  السلام علیکم ورحمتہ اللہ وبرکاتہ، شعبان المعظم کا مہینہ شروع ہو چکا ہے اور اس ماہ میں ایک ایسی مبارک رات آنے والی ہے جس کا نام 'شبِ برات' ہے۔ چونکہ اس رات کے بارے میں بعض حضرات کا یہ خیال ہے کہ اس کی کوئی فضیلت قرآن و حدیث سے ثابت نہیں، اور اس رات میں جاگنا یا خصوصی طور پر عبادت کرنا بے بنیاد ہے، بلکہ بعض حضرات نے تو اسے بدعت سے بھی تعبیر کیا ہے۔ اس لیے لوگوں کے ذہنوں میں اس رات کے بارے میں مختلف سوالات پیدا ہو رہے ہیں۔ آج کے اس مضمون میں ہم مستند حوالوں اور اکابرینِ امت کی روشنی میں اس رات کی اصل حقیقت کو واضح کریں گے۔ 1. کیا یہ رات واقعی بے بنیاد ہے؟ شبِ برات کے بارے میں یہ کہنا کہ اس کی کوئی فضیلت حدیث سے ثابت نہیں، بالکل غلط ہے۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ تقریباً دس صحابہ کرام رضوان اللہ علیہم اجمعین سے احادیث مروی ہیں جن میں نبی کریم ﷺ نے اس رات کی فضیلت بیان فرمائی ہے۔ اگرچہ بعض روایات سند کے اعتبار سے کمزور ہیں، لیکن جب اتنی زیادہ روایات ایک ہی بات کی تائید کریں تو ان کی کمزوری دور ہو جاتی ہے۔ لہٰذا جس رات کی فضیلت میں دس صحابہ سے روایات موجود ہوں، اسے بے بنیاد کہنا درست نہیں ہے۔ ...

شب براءت: فضائل، مسائل اور اصلاحِ معاشرہ کا ایک جامع مطالعہ

تمہید اور تعارف اسلامی تقویم میں ماہِ شعبان کو ایک خاص مقام حاصل ہے۔ اس مہینے کی چودہ تاریخ کے سورج غروب ہونے سے لے کر پندرہ تاریخ کی صبح صادق تک کے وقت کو "شب براءت" کہا جاتا ہے۔ لفظ "براءت" کے معنی بری ہونے کے ہیں، چونکہ اس رات اللہ تعالیٰ اپنی رحمتِ کاملہ سے بے شمار انسانوں کو جہنم کے عذاب سے بری فرما دیتے ہیں، اس لیے اسے شب براءت کا نام دیا گیا ہے۔ احادیثِ مبارکہ اور اسلافِ امت کے تعامل سے اس رات کی غیر معمولی فضیلت ثابت ہے۔   معتدل نظریہ: افراط و تفریط سے بچنے کی ضرورت مولانا الیاس گھمن صاحب کے مطابق، اس رات کے حوالے سے معاشرے میں دو طرح کی انتہائیں (افراط و تفریط) پائی جاتی ہیں۔ ایک طبقہ وہ ہے جو سرے سے اس رات کی فضیلت کا منکر ہے اور متعلقہ احادیث کو من گھڑت قرار دیتا ہے۔ دوسرا طبقہ وہ ہے جو فضیلت کا قائل تو ہے لیکن
